vSphere Web Client

  1. vCenter Web Client

    WebClient login.png

    WebClient configbutton.png

    WebClientConfigWizard.png

    WebClient turn off.png

    WebCLient turnon.png

    WebClient during task.png

WebCLient complete task.png

vSphere Client(HTML5 Client)

    HTML Login.png

    HTML button.png

    HTML Config.png

    HTML turnoff.png

    HTML Disable task.png

    HTML turnon.png

    HTML enabling task .png

    HTML enable conp.png

上記がvSphere Client(HTML5 Client)でのHA再構成の手順となります。

We are currently using Content Filter to add Bookmarks to Safari, but we want to open up full access to the internet. Of course adding URLs in Content Filter Whitelist only allows those URLs. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance.

Authpoint MFA with RDS Desktop pool

I have a current Horizon 7 setup for remote access to a RDS farm.

I also have another RDS server that uses the watchguard Authpoint MFA application.

I have attempted to configure this in a new farm for access via Horizon - I can connect OK but when the desktop starts I have to enter the AD credentials a second time but do not get the MFA prompt.

Has anyone out there attempted to use this combination?

Hej!
We have the Usecase, that we need to use the native Mail-App or Outlook 2019 on macOS Catalina in conjunction with the VMware Tunnel.
We have working the per App Tunnel with the Microsoft RDP Client on Mac - runs perfect.
Does anybody have the Tunnel working with native Mac-Apps? And is it possible to use a kind of ' Split' -Mailclient - if I use my private Account ' icloud.com'  i does not the tunnel, if I use my working Mailaccount I have to go through the Tunnel (analaog the Domains using Safari and the Tunnel)??
Thanks a lot for an answer or some Ideas (not just ' RTFM'  ;-))...
Best regards and a nice Weekend
Olaf

Initial password does not work post deploying NSX-T Autonomous Edge client

Post deploying NSX-T Autonomous Edge client, specified password (during wizard) does not work and below error is seen on console.

This document talks about resetting the password without redeploying the appliance.

Login with root and enter default password vmware ; you will be prompted to enter the current password followed by new password. In my example password was VMware@12345

Post entering the password, it will auto-login.

Let's change the admin password and then reboot the appliance. To reset password for admin account we need to run below command and enter new password.

Now reboot the appliance. The password notification should not come up and you will be able to login with new credentials.

Error in firstboot script during install of vcenter server 6.7 on windows server 2019

Good morning,

I tried to install vcenter server 6.7 on windows server 2019 (for many reasons it's better for me this method over appliance) and failed because of this error:

[ vminst-con.log extract ]

[Running] C:\Program Files\VMware\vCenter Server\firstboot\visl-support-firstboot.py

Result:

It seems a strange permission problem but I cannot understand it as I'm running setup with an Administrative user.

I shortened here the log for convenience but if needed I can share more of it.

Has anyone any suggestion?

Thank you

Issue with vSAN 6.6.1 new lab cluster setup - network partitioned going into unicast mode and vSAN cluster configuration consistency warning

$

Hi all, wondering if anyone here have encountered the same issue I’m facing in my lab testing vSAN 6.6.1:

I was just setting up the vSAN from scratch, a brand new vSAN cluster setup with the latest 6.5U1 ESXi host install with the latest vCenter 6.5U1 install on a separate host – all with the latest updates and patches as of today.

I ended up getting the same “vSAN cluster configuration consistency” warning that also listed the issue being each of the 6 hosts showing “invalid request (Correct version of vSAN Health installed?)”

I noticed the following behavior:
– initial setup of the cluster with vSAN without disks claimed had them in multicast mode without any network partition problem (tested multicast traffic was working with tcpdump-uw)

– upon claiming disks, it tried to go into unicast mode and then every single host became partitioned. Unicastagent list came up empty. Cluster complains of being partitioned.

– manually adding the unicastagent entries resolved the partition problem, and that’s how I ended up with the “vSAN cluster configuration consistency”

Anyone have similar issues and can advise how to proceed? Thanks in advance!

Cant filter hashtable returned from function.

Hello Everyone,

I have the below code and I'm getting data back from the function but unable to filter it by calling $Sessions.Name. Goal is to be able to filter between vcenter and other vami devices. Anyone see what I'm doing wrong with my code or know a better way to filter a list?

functionGetVAMISessionID

{

    $BaseAuthURL = "https://" + $ip + "/rest/com/vmware/cis/"

    $SessionURL = $BaseAuthURL + "session"

    $Header = @{"Authorization" = "Basic "+[System.Convert]::ToBase64String([System.Text.Encoding]::UTF8.GetBytes($User+':'+$Password))}

    $Type = "application/json"

    #Authenticate

    Try

    {

        $SessionResponse = Invoke-RestMethod -Uri $SessionURL -Headers $Header -Method POST -ContentType $Type -SkipCertificateCheck

    }

    Catch

    {

        $_.Exception.ToString()

        $error[0] | Format-List -Force

    }

    # Extracting the session ID from the response

    $SessionHeader = @{'vmware-api-session-id' = $SessionResponse.value}

    return$SessionHeader

}

functionAPIAuth {

    [hashtable]$Sessions = @{}

    #VC1 API Call

if($VC1IP -AND $VC1Username -AND $VC1Password) {

    $User = $VC1Username

    $Password = $VC1Password

    $IP = $VC1IP

    $Sessions.VC1Session = GetVAMISessionID $IP$User$Password

    }

#VC2 API Call

if($VC2IP -AND $VC2Username -AND $VC2Password) {

    $User = $VC2Username

    $Password = $VC2Password

    $IP = $VC2IP

    $Sessions.VC2Session = GetVAMISessionID $IP$User$Password

    }

# PSC1 API Call

if($PSC1IP -AND $PSC1Username -AND $PSC1Password ){

    $User = $PSC1Username

    $Password = $PSC1Password

    $IP = $PSC1IP

    $Sessions.PSC1Session = GetVAMISessionID $IP$User$Password

}

# PSC2 API Call

if($PSC2IP -AND $PSC2Username -AND $PSC2Password){

    $User = $PSC2Username

    $Password = $PSC2Password

    $IP = $PSC2IP

    $Sessions.PSC2Session = GetVAMISessionID $IP$User$Password

}

write-host$Sessions.Name

    Return$Sessions

}

$VC1IP = "xxxxxxxxxxx"

$VC1Username = "administrator@vsphere.local"

$VC1Password = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$VC2IP = "xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$VC2Username = "administrator@vsphere.local"

$VC2Password = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$PSC1IP = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$PSC1Username = "root"

$PSC1Password = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$PSC2IP = "xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$PSC2Username = "root"

$PSC2Password = "xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

$Sessions = APIAuth $VC1IP$VC1Username$VC1Password$VC2IP$VC2Username$VC2Password$PSC1IP$PSC1Username$PSC1Password$PSC2IP$PSC2Username$PSC2Password

The output from the above code is

$Sessions

Name                           Value

PSC1Session                    {vmware-api-session-id}

VC1Session                     {vmware-api-session-id}

WS1 installation in load balanced mode

Greetings everyone, i am trying to create a Proof Of Concept and i would like to achieve the following architecture : 3 load balanced servers with roles DS,API,AWCM in DMZ Example: --> ServerDS01.awlab.local --> ServerDS02.awlab.local --> ServerDS03.awlab.local Load Balanced VIP --> ServerDS.awlab.com 3 load balanced servers with the Admin Console role in the internal network. Example: --> ServerCN01.awlab.local --> ServerCN02.awlab.local --> ServerCN03.awlab.local Load Balanced VIP --> ServerCN.awlab.com All the above servers will be out of the domain. SQL database will be in the internal network with AlwaysON AG (Server in the AD Domain) Following the documentation of best practices (https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workspace-ONE-UEM/1907/WS1_Installation.pdf) it is not clear which is the URL of the Admin console and which is the URL of the device services that has to be used during the installation of WS1. The documentation states that i have to use the internal FQDN of the server for the Admin console (CN) and the external FQDN for the Device Services (DS) URL So this means that the first time i will launch the installer on the first Admin Console server i will have to put his FQDN and not the load balancer FQDN? (ex. ServerCN01.awlab.local ) and for Devices services URL the FQDN of the first Device Services server ? (ServerDS01.awlab.local) or the load balanced FQDN of the DS ? I have checked other sites that advice to use the same URL on both Admin console and Device Services and then ' play'  with the CNAME of the device services in order to avoid AWCM problems... (https://digital-work.space/display/AIRWATCH/AirWatch+Install) From your experiences which URL has to be used in each installation ? Thank you in advance for your answer. Regards, Nicolas
