hi,
when the workload is high (the average cpus load >80%) then is better to run any VM on a certain cpu -affinity.right?
by pinning the VM to certain cpu ->affinity.
Hello everyone,
Trying to clean up our environment we have numerous VMs to which the Guest OS Version choosen differs from the installed OS version. Now, i know this is purely cosmetic and updating the Guest OS Version will not change anything relating to the installed VM, or give it access to any newer features/options a new OS version would have on a clean installed VM.
Aside from the GUI method, which with the volume of VM's, would take some time to schedule an outage for them all, to power down and change, is there a way to do it via PowerCLI, but the catch...
My thought being, is there a method to Get-VM where Guest OS Version (configuration file) is not equal to VMware tools detected OS then update VM. Then, hold that config until the next time the VM is rebooted to change it?
Hope being that we could tie this into a windows update period to minimize reboots and outage windows versus shutdown a single VM, change in GUI, power on VM over about 100+ times..
I have an ESXi 6.7U3 esx host being managed by vsphere 6.7. The esxi host has 6 nics and I want to dedicate 2 of those for iscsi traffic only. Right now, two of those 6 nics are not assigned to any switches or port groups so they are completely free. I have tried this multiple times and no matter what, when trying to assign port groups under network port binding for the iscsi adapter, (after creating them of course), there is no option to attach a port group (or anything for that matter) to the iscsi storage adapter. I want to use dedicated nics instead of having iscsi traffic going through the management network. The only options that show when adding trying to add anything in "network port binding" to the iscsi storage adapter are the nics themselves and even none of those are not selectable. I have tried this in both ESXi and in vpshere. Neither gives me anything selectable as an option. I also created a virtual switch just for iscsi and then assigned nics. It just seems like I am missing something obvious but I don't know what. The list of enabled services when creating a new vmkernel network adapter does not include iscsi as an option (although I am not sure it ever did).
All I want to do is dedicate a virtual switch for just iscsi traffic that uses 2 dedicated nics so no traffic uses the management switch and therefore the nics assigned to it. I have been at this for the last 6 hours and tried doing it multiple ways but no luck. I have tried this as root on the esxi host and administrator in vsphere.
Hi,
ESXi 6.5
VCSA 6.7
I notice since I upgraded VCSA from 6.5 to 6.7, every time I go to a VM's summary page in the HTML5 client, it takes a while to load the bottom half of the page which includes "VM Hardware", "Notes", "Custom Attributes", etc. Is there anyone else having the same issue?
Thanks,
Can anyone please specify tcp flaps used by dfw firewall ?

Please help.
Hey Guys can you help my required . I was able to get the details esxi host cores and socket but cluster name and Vm's count
Need script for to get cluster name, esxi host name and VM's count in the cluster and last core and sockets. for licensing
Here is the script am using.

Hi,
VMWare has recently announced the end of general support for Personal content. As per below statement in article, New customer will no longer have access to personal content feature. So how will this be impacted in my case as I use on-premises solution and not planning to update my UEM version (1810). So, I think user can still use the personal content option in the UEM console and self service portal. However, I am assuming that personal content option will be removed from the App for new user. Am I assuming correctly? Please provide more clarity on this statement
' As part of our content modernization strategy, VMware Workspace ONE is announcing end of support for the Personal Content portion of the Workspace ONE Content solution, effective January 3rd , 2020. Between the date of making this announcement (January 3rd , 2019) and the end of life date (January 3rd 2020), VMware Workspace ONE will continue to support all Personal Content functionality. Bugs with critical priority will be addressed, however new functionality and low priority bugs will not be implemented. Additionally, new customers will no longer have access to Personal Content functionality by the end of June 2019.'

Hi,
I wanted the created the Summary tab with portlet, where we can drag and drop the portlet.
I am using plugin-seed-1.0.0. for the development.
<extension id="com.mycompany.xyz.host.summary2">
<extendedPoint>vsphere.core.host.summarySectionViews.html</extendedPoint>
<object>
<name>#{summaryView.title}</name>
<contentSpec>
<url>/ui/vspherewssdk/resources/host-summary.html</url>
<dialogTitle>WSSDK Summary Sample</dialogTitle>
<dialogSize>440,400</dialogSize>
</contentSpec>
</object>
</extension>
Summary tab is not getting created and there is no error in the browser console, it just displays blank page.
Please help me to resolve the issue?
Hello everybody.
I can't replace SSL certificate on my vcenter.
The certificates are emitted by godaddy and I've used them in many servers, as they are eligible for *.<mydomain>.it.
I get always this unuseful message: "Error, certificate failed to replace".
I upload file ending with .cer or .pem or .crt, but nothing changes. The same for the .key file.
Any idea?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Fabrizio
Hi folks,
i have some questions regarding an upcoming migration to a 4-Node ESXi Cluster.
actual system:
I have several Windows Cluster Systems running (SQL- and Fileservercluster consisting of 2 nodes each). The problem is that the cluster datastore is an iSCSI-target which is mounted on vm-guest-level. The iSCSI-Target ends on a single nas (QNAP TS-U1679-RP). In future, i wish to migrate the clusterstorage directly to vSAN.
My question: Do i use the RDM feature of ESXi or is it better to use a vSAN datastore in conjunction with the Windows-Cluster Feature? The Windows Cluster itself is running on Windows Server 2012 R2.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Hi,
Having a lot of issues with running an upgrade from VCSA 5.5 to 6.0. It's not a complex environment, instead of an upgrade can I
Thanks
I'm stuck in some kind of certificate netherworld. I've run certificate manager to create a new key and csr per these instructions, choosing options 1 and 1.
https://samsig.dk/getting-a-valid-certificate-on-your-vmware-vsphere-vcenter-6-7/
When I use our certificate portal and pasted my csr into the certificate csr field, I got a message that the alternative email is invalid. The portal itself has a required email field, so I decided to go back through the cert setup and leave the email blank. The setup wants to use the existing certool.cfg or quit. I ran through it and tried to overwrite the email entry with a blank, but that didn't work. I tried to use the certool command to overwrite the email entry with a blank, but I get an error when I try to do that. I renamed the certool.cfg file in the config folder to .old, but the certificate manager still sees all of the previous info that I entered, including the email entry I want to ditch.
Is there another certool.cfg file that I need to look for somewhere? Should I delete the one that I renamed? Any other options?
Thanks.

Started happening a few weeks ago. Intermittently, a few times a week, the VM will just power off. Just now, it seemed to be triggered by me not using it for a few minutes, then moving the mouse inside it. It went straight from having multiple apps running to being… off.
The Fusion app seems to lose its pipe to the VM:

Hi,
Seeing a bit of a strange one - we have 3PAR LUNs presented to a 6.5 HPE blade cluster via FC and each datastore is presented too all hosts.
They all work fine however on a host reboot some of the datastores are shown as 'Not Consumed' as their operational state in Configure > Storage > Storage Devices. This hasn't had an effect on operations thus far as most of them show up connected after reboot and DRS must only migrate workloads back to that are housed on connected storage..
We only noticed it after bringing hosts back into use and a storage re-scan brings any datastores back instantly.
Has anyone seen 'Not consumed' before or have any pointers?
I will try re-create the behaviour in dev today.
Thank you
Update 23/04/2019:
Rebooting a host recreated the issue. Some LUNs have an operational state of attached but are 'Not Consumed' and do not show up in the list of datastores.
Here's the details of one that this happened to:

A storage re-scan on the host brings them back.
Has anyone got any pointers to what to look into?
Has anyone experienced the following
We have multiple custom apps that we have uploaded to managed google play through the AirWatch console. At activation time the apps are automatically installed on the device and everything works as expected.
Whenever we update the APK for any of the internal apps, the device does not receive the app update during the google play update process. Any apps added from the public google play store automatically updated as expected. If you manually go to the App in the store and select update on the Internal app, it installed correctly and works as expected.
If anyone can point me in any direction that could correct this it would greatly be appreciated.
Setup:
We are ONPREM

Thx
Hello, I'm a bit new doing content locker in airwatch and I'm running into a problem when syncing to a sharepoint site. When I create a Admin Repository the name shows up on our iPads but it labels it as ' Not Synced' and no documents are displayed. The overall goal is to have the documents from the site download to the device for viewing and not editing. I've searched the setup documentation and I'm not seeing any steps that I could be leaving out.
Versions of use:
Sharepoint Services 3.0
AirWatch 9.2.0.400
Any direction to help me troubleshoot it would be greatly appreciated!
Grazie
