Using VMware Site Recovery Manager 5, Array based replication, NetApp Storage Replication Adapter 2, ONTAP 8.0.2.
Have met all and re-verified that have met all pre-requisites of SRA/SRM which are outlined in documentation for both.
(Also, this all worked for me with SRM 4 without any problem, although I have installed from scratch as opposed to upgrading)
The arrays discover properly, the replicated LUNs are visible and configure the VMs correctly for protection.
When running Test failover, step 1 through step 3 complete OK (Synch Storage, Restore Hosts from standby, Suspend VMs at Remote Site).
Step 4 (Create Writable Snapshot) gets to 45% then fails claiming
Error: Failed to create snapshots of replica devices. SRA command 'testFailoverStart' failed. Address of the storage array is not reachable. Storage array might be down or IP address entered might be incorrect. Ensure that the storage array is up and running and the IP address of the storage array is reachable through the command line interface.
The storage array is of course up and reachable, if I change the IP to a fake one or use a bad hostname then it fails immediately on Step 1, so I know that it is actually able to talk to the Array as it is able to quesce the snapshot for Step 1.
I have tried using hostname-based and IP-based configurations, SSL and non-SSL, am using root credentials on the Filers, there are no firewalls in place, etc. Perl 5.8.8 which comes with SRM 5 is the first one in the path, confirmed with perl --version
It just seems as though the SRA scripts are not working properly but I cannot find any hints in the SRM logs, no useful SNMP traps, etc.
Has anyone gotten SRM5 and NetApp SRA 2 working yet?
Does anyone have any ideas for other things I can try?
