I had a Windows7-x64 VM fail on startup, after failing to suspend properly. Resume was
the only choice, and I couldn't force the VM to restart. The resume would never complete,
giving the dreaded, "Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to" error.
My other VMs continued to work fine, so it didn't seem like a problem with fusion services.
I tried all of the suggestions I found online, including a complete uninstall/restart/re-install.
None of the things I found helped, until I tried rolling back to an earlier snapshot.
This seemed to be just the fix. After the rollback worked, I restored the current snapshot
that wouldn't resume before. It did restore, but crashed Windows once it started.
However, after restarting Windows everything was back to normal.
Hopefully, this will help someone else with the same error.
