We currently have 2 host servers utilizing a Dell MD3000i via iSCSI connections. We're still growing, and we're rapidly running out of room on our SAN. We're also going to expand to 2 additional host servers so we can start utilizing VMView.
We requested an MD1000 from Dell, and $8300 later we get an MD1220. Surprise, a 1220 is not compatible with an MD3000i. Dell is now telling us that they have discontinued MD1000's, and so we're weighing our options.
Ideally we would have liked to expand our MD3000i, but it's becoming more and more likely that won't happen.
I was wondering what some of you used for storage. We're stuck in the $8k-$10k range, but if we can get something cheaper that performs just as well (if not better) I'm all ears.
