I have a few questions I hope others could chime in on. I am currently conducting a PoC with View 5.0 everything has gone smooth and the Persona Manager appears to be a good solution. We are in the process of purchasing a 100 pack of Preimre licenses to continue our testing with. We will be using linked clones, Local Mode and having users going from actual desktops to virtual desktops in phase 1.
My questions are as foliows:
- Has anyone used folder redirection with Persona Manager, for users that will be switching between actual desktops and virtual desktops (I have read the admin guide and see the how to, just looking for real world feedback)?
- How are most people migrating user profile information from actual desktops to virtual desktops? Both are Windows 7 in this case.
- For the Local mode clients, it appears that persistent disks are the way to go for profile management,is my assumption correct?
- For linked clones on a corporate network, how are most admins using thinapp? I'm thinking of only virtualizing smaller apps as Office or Lotus notes do not seem feasible since they are so large install on login for linked clones.
