Qualifications:/Duties
Texas Health Resources System Services is seeking a Server Engineer III. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Production implementation experience in Virtualization - Architecture/Engineering & Deployment, with strong skills in Virtualization infrastructure technologies; Consisting of VMware ESX and ESXi Servers (4.x, 5.x & vSphere), VMotion, Cloning, Snapshots, vCOPS, and Storage Motion in a SAN environment
Basic Requirements:
• Knowledge of design, implement, support, tune and trend a large VMware 4.1 VMware infrastructure.
• PowerShell scripting; Must be able to read and write PowerShell scripts.
• Experience with HP Blade Systems and HP VCEM.
Job DUTIES:
• Responsible for assessment, implementation, conversion of physical servers, and management of the Virtualized infrastructure.
• Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Plans upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.
• Develops documentation on new or existing systems.
• Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.
• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
• Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
• Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers
• May serve as a technical team or task lead.
• Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Participates in special projects as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• VMware VDI Implementation / Deployment
• Veeam Backup
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP4 or VCP5)
• Experience and/or knowledge in administering SAN storage devices
• Experience with Cisco Blade Systems
• Experience integrating NetApp Snap with VMware
• Strong process oriented, documentation and communication skills
• ITIL v3 Foundation Certification (desirable).
Hours:
1st Shift, Full Time, Mon – Fri , 8 AM – 5 PM
