Windows XP VM on OSX missing months of work?

Anybody ever have files go missing on their Virtualized System?

 

Here is the skinny on what happened.

 

I have a user with a VM running Win XP.  The Host system's (OSX 10.6) hard drive crashed and it wont operate correcly unless kept under tempurature.

 

I was able to recover the Win XP virtual machine and get it running.  But files that where created after 8/22/11 are gone.

 

I have made copies of the VM Machine and did various recoveries to see if I can find the files but there are no traces of them.

 

Any ideas what happened to these files? or possibly what I could do to recover them?

 

What I can do:

 

Start the VM and run it fine with VMFusion

Mount the VMDK files and view them from OSX

 

 

Below I have attached the original logs and the .vmx file.   The VMX file looks corrupt.

 

Host System OSX 10.6

VM Windows XP Current updates

VMFusion 3.1.3 

 

I tried to check out his time machine but the user was shutting down his vm then turning his Mac off so the Time Machine never had a chance to get a current copy of his VM files.  So I need to see if I can recover the files from what I was able to get from the old drive.
