We have a browser based application which requires IE with customized settings. With in the browser based application, users will be launching word and pdf files.
We have captured Virtualised IE with an entry point with the system installed IE. Customised all the settings and captured the IE. When we launched the iexplore.exe it launched the sytem installed IE with the customised settings and able to log into the system.
For this virtualised IE to open the natively installed word and pdf with in the browser I have added these three lines into the package.ini
VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM=0
ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions=word.exe;winword.exe;acrord32.exe
ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault=Virtual
The screen shot below shows a glimpse of the browser based system.
As you can see there are pdf and .doc files. When we click on the pdf, the pdf file opens with in the browser and that is the expected behaviour.
But when we click on the .doc file we get the file download pop below
For some reason, the document is not opening with the native word and not able to assosciate the .doc with the word installed natively.
So what would we need to do to have the word file opened when inititated from the browser based application.? I have also attached the package.ini for your reference.
