I have two servers. One is a 64 bit machine and I have loaded ESX4 on it. The other is a Dell 2650 (32 bit only) and I have loaded 3.5 on it. There is no vCenter Server in the mix at all. On my laptop, I loaded the cSphere client and am able to create thin provisisioned VMs on the ESX 4 host. When I tried to connect to the 3.5 (using vSphere) it downloaded and installed the older 2.5 VI client. I can still make a connection to the ESX 3.5 host and create a VM with no problems.
The problem that I have is this - I am unable to create a thin provisioned disk in 3.5. Are thin disks not an option in 3.5?
