We are in the process of upgrading our environment to vSphere 5. We have already upgraded the vCetner server to version 5. Next we where going to upgrade the Cisco VSM and VEMs to the latest version to support vSphere 5. Now we have run into the problem that since our vCenter server is already at version 5 the VSM will not communicate with it because it says it doesnt support version 5. So we are at a point where we need to know what our options are.
Our current setup is:
vCetner - version 5
ESX Hosts - 4.1
VSM - 4.0(4) SV1 (3)
VEMs - 4.0.4.1.3.0.0-2.0.21
Can we manually install the updated VEMs and then upgrade the VSM and all would start working again?
Or is there another course of action we need to take since vCetner was upgraded first and now the version of VSM we are running doesnt communicate with vCenter 5.
At the moment we can not make any changes thru the Nexus 1000v since it will not communicate with vCetner.
