I have one MD3200 SAS storage, connected to three R710 with ESXi 5.0.
Each host has two separate SAS HBA, one for each MD3200 controller.
I created two disk groups, one for vm/system and one for data, then I would like to connect to vmware hosts using preferred data path.
On MD3200 I configured ownership for vm/system to the controller 0, ownership for data to the controller 1.
On vmware I selected Fixed path, making preferred channel 0 for vm/system and channel 1 for data.
Everything is ok for a while (let's say 10 to 40 minutes), then storage report a warning: "Virtual Disk not on preferred path due to failover Component type: RAID Controller Module Component location"
Looking to data disk group, the MDSM report that preferred is controller 1, ownership is controller 0.
Which kind of problem am I facing?
