I have been playing with timeouts in global settings and have not been able to find documentation/discussion on the following.
We don't want the users to auto-disconnect due to global timeout from their view sessions for 16 hours. That is once they leave their office and come back the next day there shouldn't be a message on their zero clients. Even though the global timeout is 16 hours, the users are still getting disconnected the next morning. Having looked into View agent logs under event logs, I see that during morning the users are "reconnecting to their virtual desktops". Meaning the session was already ongoing and they are just reconnecting to it.
Having rebooted the virtual desktop and have the user connected to it at 5:00 PM still showed the disconnected due to global time out value on the screen the next morning. So, when does the session start and how does view calculate the time per session. Also, I can obviously increase the timeout number to some large one and the users won't see the errors, but that doesn't answer questions on when does a session start and how can a user log-off from session so that his in-session time does not get increased?
thks!
