Hello all,
I have installed Win 7 as guest on my kubuntu11.10 host. This is on a HP pavilion dv6 with intel core i7 cpu an 4GB Ram.
When I start the win7 guest a errror message comes up telling me that catalyst ist not supported, etc.
3D is enabled in vmware machine settings.
here is the relevat part of my lspci:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family DRAM Controller (rev 09)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200/2nd Generation Core Processor Family PCI Express Root Port (rev 09)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
00:16.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family MEI Controller #1 (rev 04)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc NI Seymour [AMD Radeon HD 6470M]
Is there any way I can get 3D to work here? I really do need it, and not for games. some of my software (medical analysis) demand 3D.
Edit: this is the full error message:
