ESXi 5 occassionally hangs at initializing power management

Hi All,

I came across this issue when playing with version 4.1 and it was never resolved. Now with version 5 it is also happening randomly on boot. It hangs at initializing power management and the progress bar is only about an inch or so long.

I came across articles for version 4 relating to issues with loading the megaraid_sas driver on startup when booting from USB and the solution was to modify the boot.cfg and add "ACPI=FALSE powerManagement=FALSE".

Would the solution be to only add the "powerManagement=FALSE" to the "kernalopt=" line in the boot.cfg?

Kind Regards,

Vlad

PS. Got some kernel logs re Initializing Power Management on successful boots with ACPI failures which I am not sure are related:

Note this is on a HP DL380 G6:
