Also can anyone clear up which logins should be used and when?
The documentation differs between standard/advanced and enterprise versions. As well as the standard/advanced docs always referring to the admin login when I think they just mean the vsphere UI login or it doesn't make sense.
This is what I think it is:
<ip address>/admin - web front end for admin purposes. Login using "admin" and whatever the password is you set it to
Console access is also access using this "admin" account
<ip address> or <ip address>/vcops-vsphere - "Basic" UI same as what is available in the vSphere client. Access through "admin" account or any vCenter admins
<ip address>/vcops-custom - Not sure why this is called custom but "advanced" UI with many more settings, options. Access through "admin". Additional users need to be added here. vCenter defined or Active Directory logins do not work. Can import from LDAP tho.
Do people concur with this?
The enterprise docs refer to <ip address> as vCenter Operations Manager Standalone login
and <ip address>/vcops-custom as vCenter Operations Manager vApp login
The standard/advanced doc only refer to the custom URL for adding adapters
