ESXi on Dell 6950 - Won't boot from USB Stick

So I recently picked up a Dell 6950 to add to my lab to prepare for my VCP class and test.

I'm having a bit of a problem and hoping someone else may have come across this.

The system specs are as follows:

Dell 6950

4 x AMD 8360SE Quad Core 2.5Ghz

64GB RAM (16 x 4GB DIMMS)

4 x 1TB SATA

Perc 5/i RAID 5 of the 3 1TB, 1 Hot Spare

I was able to complete a ESXi install from CDROM onto a PNY 4GB USB Stick, however once the install completed and it rebooted it got to the point where it loads all the drivers and switches to the yellow screen.  It get's to a different point each time on boot after the yellow screen but fails sometime after it initilizes the CPU's.

After it does that, the screen goes black - both on the VGA output as well as the DRAC Console re-direction.

Once I folled around with this for a while, I finally just installed ESXi onto the RAID5 array under the Perc5/i and it booted just fine and has been working no problem.

I'd really like to run this system diskless connected via iSCSI to my back-end storage, so any pointers on what may be wrong would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
