VM: advanced networking performance options

I am looking to check the advanced networking performance options on a VM.  I have been reading the following articles:

In the first article, I am unable to locate these options on the VM. Where are they? I tried editing the hardware settings, and looking in the options tab, then general, configuration parameters button, but could not see the options.

I am using a version 7, ESXI 4.1 VM, with VMXNET3 NIC.
