NAT or Bridged VPN Connection to XP Client

Hi!  I'm running into a frustrating problem that I can't seem to figure out.  The situation is this... I have an OSX (10.6.8) MacBook Pro with VMware Fusion (2.0.8) to run Windows XP  Pro (SP3).  I am using a NAT connection between the host and client.  On the PC-side I have a Cisco VPN client (5.0.05) with several available connections.  I'm able to make connections with several of these remote networks and they work perfectly, but for two profiles I am able to connect and establish the tunnel, but I am not able to ping anything on the remote network.  Why do some remote networks work completely and others don't allow me to do anything on the remote network???

To make things a little more complicated, I've tried switching the network settings of the virtual machine to use a "bridged" connection and then all of my connections work perfectly, but if I establish a VPN connection on the host machine (Mac OSX 10.6.8) using the Cisco AnyConnect client (2.5.2017) the network connection on the guest (Windows XP) drops completely.

I need to get this working as soon as possible.  I'm getting desperate.
