Captive Mouse on Win7VM - Set My Rodent Free

I've been running Fusion since 3.0 and I'm now on version 4.1.1.  My only VM is a Win7 x64 and the mouse has worked seamlessly moving between the VM window and my Mac windows.

I'm not sure what changed, but now the mouse pointer is being held captive by the VM.  It doesn't matter if it is in full screen or single window mode.  Pushing the mouse to the hot corner no longer launches Spaces (or whatever it is now called on Lion).

I've uninstalled and reinstalled VMware Tools and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

If my memory serves me correctly, I also saw this when I first installed Fusion 3.0 years ago and I don't remember the resolution.

How do I convince the VM to release my mouse when I push it past the window boundaries?  I guess I should mention that it will release when I press the COMMAND-CONTROL key combo, but this is a real pain.

Any suggestions?
