Starting recently, my previously functioning installation of VMWare Fusion 3.1 stopped working. When I try to launch it, it complains "The virtual machine is unable to reserve memory," and then when "retry" fails and I abort, it reports "Failed to lock shared memory."
This is on a 2009 Mac Pro with 12Gb of RAM and 8 cores, running 10.6.4, and no other applications running. The virtual machine has 1 core, 1Gb allocated (I tried stepping that down to 768Mb but that did nothing).
Help!
