I am trying to use a template in another Datastore which i have permissions to.
I am in org "dev" using datastore SATA1_LD2 and another org is "testing" SATA1_LD3.
I was under the understanding that the system would automatically copy the template across, i am not clear if it copies to "vm templates" or creates a full clone in the destination configuration...
However i get this type of error then i try to use a template in another Organisation in which i am also an administrator. i.e. adding a VM to a Configuration. (NB: I did not try the "full clone option).
In am in SATA1_LD2 & the template is in SATA1_LD3 which can be seen and selected. Is this the source of the issue ?
Does SATA1_LD3 need to be listed here ? And in their (testing) SATA1_LD3 our SATA1_LD2 ?
But we want to ensure SATA1_LD2 users ONLY copy templates but don't create content in SATA1_LD3 ?
It seems as far as IMPORT / EXPORT of templates, the system allows vCenter and SMB and not datastore to Datastore ? is that right ?
