I'd like to hear what people have experienced migrating from LM -> vCD (if anyone has) but I'd like to hear about things from a Lab Manager world view.
I've read up on it, I've talked with Eddie, I've talked with beta sites, and I'll ask questions about the migration at this weeks vCD deep dive at NE-VMUG.
I want to keep this technical, not financial, or vmware bashing
I doubt the technology shift is that big of a deal to understand but the v5 and vCD lingo could be exhausting which is why I'd like this to be from a LM point of reference if possible.
I know that vCD got linked clones recently but I don't think it has an easy mechanism to for deploying fenced configurations.
- What functionality is vCD still missing or
- What does it do differently or hopefully better, that requires us to think outside of the lab manager box?
- Why should I want to delay a LM -> vCD migration or or do it asap (don't waste time saying LM is end-of-life, that's obvious).
