What ports/Servers are used for View Client (PCoIP)

I have spent hours reading about this topic and cannot understand how this is working.  Is there anyone that can explain in a few sentences what ports are used in this scenario and what servers the connection goes through?

Our setup:

1 view connection broker (no security server)

All clients are using PCoIP

In the view Administrator I have "Use secure tunnel connection to desktop" and "Use PCoIP secure gateway for PCoIP connections to desktop" both turned off. I believe this means that the clients connect directly to the vm, correct?

Most clients are on local lan however we are also using ipads to connect through our vpn.  In the vpn configuration I have ONLY allowed access to connection broker:443 yet the ipads are able to connect to their desktops just fine.  I dont understand how this is possible unless the connections from the client to the vm are still being routed through the connection broker.

Is there a document somewhere that shows how these connections are made or can someone explain this please?

thanks.
