Partitions on a SSD for the vSphere5 Hypervisor Host (Free Edition)

Hi,

this will be my first installation of a vSphere 5 hypervisor system (Free Edition). My new PC will contain a SSD (120GB) for the vSphere host and the VMs. Additionally, it will contain a RAID controller with several SATA discs for the data. My questions are:

Do I have to create partitions on the SSD for installing vSphere 5?

I have read on http://vmetc.com/2009/07/22/best-practices-for-vsphere-esx-4-service-console-partitions/

that there are several partiotions needed. Does the setup create these partitions automatically?

Is it possible to store the VM (system partition of each operating system) on this SSD also?

I will store VMs for 2x Windows7 (approx. 2x30GB), 1x FreeNAS, 1x Linux for Zarafa, 1x Linux for several other services.

Regards,

Oliver
