Windows Unusual Out-of-Band Security Update

Since I installed the out-of-band update (here is slashdot story <http://developers.slashdot.org/story/11/12/29/1352219/microsoft-issuing-unusual-out-of-band-security-update>), VMWare won't run.

Is this a known issue?

I've 'repaired' VMWare twice from the install software, and that does *something* as I needed to restart Vista each time.

The Out-Of-Band security update is the last update I installed.  VMWare ran before I installed it.  I also ran the Malicious Software Removal Tool and did a full system scan, so I should be fine there as well
