My Concerns About Installing ESXi on USB Flash Disk

Hi !

There has been many posts about installing esxi hypervisor on a usb flash disk, what i have done and i think it is ok because there is no need to waste expensive disks for installing a very light o.s.

But i have some questions and some concerns in this regard. appreciate your answers.

1- First of all i cant find internal usb of my DL380 G7 Server. can somebody give me a link or photo of where it is exactly located ?

2- assume that after booting up the host completely, something happens to the usb disk. does anything happen ? i think there should be nothing to worry because the hypervisor has been loaded into server memory. am i right ?

3- my important concern is about to have backup and ability to restore that very fast. some time in the past i had just one esxi host. i used powercli and the suitable commands to backup host setting (i think the command was something like esx-cfgbackup or like that).

so if the flash got corrupted, i would replace with another one and restored settings on that

but now i have vcenter and 4 esxi host. should i be worried about that ? how should i have backup ? i know that backing up SQL database of vcenter and its certificate is enough to have a backup of vcenter settings but which of those are just in vcenter and what are on host ? simply to say, what should i do in order to be able to replace a faulty usb disk (esxi is on it) with a new one and get everything back to work as it was ?

sorry if the questions are easy to answer. i am just a newbie

and sorry for my bad english
