Thanks to ESXi 4.1 U1, I get the now familar 'warning' that custom VIBs are installted:
- oem-vmware-esx-drives-net-vxge
- oem-vmware-esx-drives-scsi-3w-9xxx
The hosts I want to upgrade to ESXi 5.0 thankfully don't have this hardware. The upgrade options I have are as follows:
- Force migrate ESXi, preserve VMFS datastore
- Upgrade ESXi, preserve VMFS datastore
Question 1: What upgrade option would you guys suggest I use for upgrading to ESXi 5.0 and preserving my datastore (best practice)? The phrasing 'force migrate' doesn't sound good.
Question 2: Is it correct that neither option will upgrade my existing VMFS 3.0 datastore to 5.0?
